How the Arena works
Through GW8, FINAL in both divisions. Arena analysis, never the official table: promotion, relegation and fines are decided on the Premier and Championship tables.
The rules every number follows
- Settled results only
- Every ranking reads FINAL Gameweeks from the archives. A Gameweek still being played is never counted, and a cross-division comparison waits until the Gameweek is FINAL in both divisions.
- Score basis
- A team’s Gameweek score is its FPL points after transfer deductions, as published. Captain points include the armband’s multiplier.
- AVERAGE (synthetic)
- A division with an odd number of teams pairs one team each week with FPL’s average score. It is not a team: it ranks nowhere and wins nothing, but its score still counts against the team that played it.
- Absent is not zero
- A week that was not recorded is shown as missing and left out of averages and runs. It is never treated as a score of 0. Known zero, unknown and not published are kept apart.
- Ties
- Level scores share a rank, and “level” is said only for an exact tie. Leaders are decided on unrounded values; figures are printed to one decimal.
- What-ifs
- Swapped schedules, a bench without substitutions and the best available captain are hypotheticals, labelled as such. They use each team’s real published scores and change nothing in the tables.
- Names
- Teams are named by their FPL team name only. No manager names are published.
